Chocolate makers Cristina and Eraldo Sant’ Anna have been together for 37 years. They have 3 children and worked in totally different areas. She, in the natural products business, he a hotelier. Until they found Bean To Bar, and together transformed a hobby into a business.
“Besides the love for sweets, - the ants (formigas) - have other beautiful things in common: the value of group work and the need to have another to live.
Thus came the idea of Fumiga! A chocolate brand with true flavor coming from the fruit and the beauty of cooperation.”
With the children leaving home, they realized they no longer had something to take care of and missed it very much! They were aimless.
That's when seeing a report on how the Bean to Bar chocolate manufacturing process was compared to industrial chocolates, whose raw material quality proved doubtful, they started looking for courses to produce chocolate made from the cocoa bean.
“We found Castelli, and it was love at first sight. Our whole experience was an impactful experience in our lives, seeing the whole manufacturing process from planting the fruits to a bonbon, was passionate, besides seeing the wealth often forgotten in our country. The course made us value not only a more natural chocolate but to see all the other products we consume. It certainly changed the way we view the valuation of foreign chocolate in relation to ours and our duty as a chocolatier to bring pride in being a country of quality cocoa.”
